Showers of Blessings

. I will send down showers in season; there will be showers of blessing!” (Ezekial 34:26)

The other day as I drove to find out if I needed a repeat kidney biopsy and repeat chemotherapy for lupus nephritis, I ran in and out of shower.  Bursts of rain thunder and lightening and then bright sun shine beaming down!

It reminded me how it is to live with chronic illness and pain!  You are in and out of storms and sunshine as things fluctuate and change from minute to minute, hour to hour, day to day!

The children of Israel had been carried into captivity in Babylon.  They had seen plenty of showers that then gave way to susnshine.

Verse after verse Ezekial had delivered the Lord’s message of gloom and doom and now it was time for the sunshine!  We go through periods of storms, fear, negativity, and anxiety.  We struggle to stay healthy and think positive!  But, we can’ do it on our own!

Storms come and go but the Lord remains forever!  When you fly you may pass through thick layers of clouds only to emerge into bright sunshine.  Where we are in life is colored by the lenses we have on our eyes.  If we have on dark glasses, everything is dark.  If we have on clear glasses, everything is bright!

I have transition lenses that automatically get dark in the sunlight and lighten up as I get into darker environments.  We need to have the transition lenses  of the Lord but get lighter dark in the bright light and then clear up as we get to dimmer ares of our lives!

The Lord is constantly there saying we are the light of the world.  We don’ put a light under a bushel basket but let it shine the illuminate us and the world around us as the Lord’s love shines through us!

Father God, please let the light of you love shine through us as we focus on you and not the distractions of this earthly existence!  Amen and Amen

What worries, anxiety, and storms block your lenses right now, today?
